British soprano and actor Hollie-Anne Clark is a versatile vocal artist. Praised for her ‘unmatched lyricism’ and ‘phenomenal dramatism’ (Operawire ’22) and commended for her ‘true artistic exceptionality’, Hollie has performed in venues, including the Royal Albert Hall, Cadogan Hall, St David’s Hall and Wales Millennium Centre, and is delighted to have had the opportunity to perform alongside world-renowned artists such as Sir Bryn Terfel. Hollie’s new classical cinematic EP - Enchanted has recently been released and already been streamed by thousands.
Hollie-Anne is currently in demand as a guest vocal entertainer internationally, and has developed two new solo shows - Showtime & D.I.V.A, for her tours. She looks forward to performing her solo act in two industry showcases this Autumn 2024.
Also this Autumn, on the concert platform Hollie will sing as the soprano soloist for Hastings Philharmonic Orchestra and Chorus under the baton of Marcio da Silva.
On the operatic stage, Hollie enjoyed an exciting start to the year, taking on the role of Contessa this February 2024, in Le nozze di Figaro at The Cockpit theatre London, with Ensemble OrQuesta and the Hastings Philharmonic Orchestra. This Summer she performed the role of Contessa in Figaro for the renowned Grimebourn Opera Festival, in London. Summer season 2023, she produced an immersive Operatic Fringe theatre show - Tales of Love Lust and Loss in Cardiff alongside colleagues of Opera Synergy.cyf - a company which Hollie is the Artistic Director. She made her International role debut in Switzerland 2021, as Rosalinde in Strauss’s Operetta Die Fledermaus, conducted by Tom Seligman with the Berlin Opera Orchestra. Hollie currently works with repetiteur Michael Pollock.
Hollie has performed a variety of operatic roles including, Micaela - Carmen, for which she received acclaim as a ‘magnificent voice, referencing the true form of bel canto’ (John Vandevert - Operawire), Donna Elvira - Don Giovanni (HPO), Contessa Almaviva - Le nozze di Figaro (HPO), Musetta - La Bohème (North Wales Opera), Bridesmaid - The marriage of Figaro (MWO).
Hollie-Anne’s music releases are garnering success, and her debut album, Pure Imagination, released December 2022, has been given high-acclaim with ‘her lush tone..a consistent thread’ (ClassCrossMag ’23). In May 2023, Hollie released her debut single, I Am What I Am. And Christmas 2023 saw the release of her first festive album, Together at Christmas. Hollie-Anne has also appeared on television numerous times recently singing live on ITV to Paddy Mcguiness.
In concert, Hollie has sung with acclaimed orchestras including the BBC Symphony Orchestra and BBC National Orchestra of Wales, under the baton of the greats; Pierre Boulez, Sir Andrew Davis and Ed Gardner. A frequent soprano at the BBC Proms, Hollie sang as part of the Opera chorus alongside Anna Netrebko in the Last Night at the Royal Albert Hall. She is the featured soloist on recording of Tormis’s ‘The Singers Childhood’, with the BBC SO and BBC Symphony Chorus, broadcast for BBC Radio 3 with Aled Jones. Also recently as a featured soloist twice in concert with the Welsh Musical Theatre Orchestra - ‘Broadway! A Night at the Musicals’.
In theatre Hollie recently completed a London tour of Aladdin in December 2023, playing roles of Princess Jasmine and Auntie Banazar, with the West-End company-Stage-Ed. Autumn ’22 Hollie originated the role of Sian Price, in new musical -Spirit of the Mine by west-end composer and musician Geoff Eales. In the directors chair, she has written, produced and directed various children’s theatre.
Hollie was a 2020/21 Young Artist with Wales International Academy of Voice, studying with renowned tenor and soprano Dennis O’Neill and Della Jones. Prior to this she trained in Advance Musical Theatre at Associated Studios London, with William Relton, Michael Webborn and Leontine Hass, and gained a Masters Degree from The Royal Welsh college of Music and Drama.
Hollie is a passionate choral conductor and vocal animateur. In 2022 she successfully competed with the Cardiff Youth choir at the Llangollen International Eisteddfod and won first prize. Hollie has conducted choirs on some of the UK’s main stages including, The Royal Festival Hall, Colston Hall and St David’s Hall.
Hollie is a cat and animal lover, and in her free time she is also a keen dancer! She has a good command of the Italian language having lived in Italy, and she is skilled in French and German.
